That's exactly what we've built with Teachery 4.0. But, we also know that “your software is changing” can feel like one more thing on an already full to-do list 🥴.

If you're an existing Teachery user, you've put real work into your Courses, Products, etc, and real people rely on them. We don’t take that lightly (we have our own courses still active on Teachery). You can use both versions of Teachery during the transition and we're giving you until March 31, 2027 to migrate everything over.

We’re a small team at Teachery, and managing two versions takes time away from making Teachery better for you. If you can move sooner, it makes a real difference 🙏.

Teachery 4.0 Migration Steps

Your courses keep running in current Teachery until you migrate.

1. Copy it over

Log in to Teachery 4.0, choose a course or product, and click Copy. You’ll get an unpublished copy to work on. Nothing changes for your students yet.

2. Give it a once-over

Open your copy and check the notes for anything that needs attention. Make your tweaks here. Changes you make in 3.0 after copying won’t carry over.

3. Make the move

Click “Check if it can move.” When it’s ready, move it to bring your students into 4.0, using the same URL. This closes the 3.0 version and can’t be undone.

Using a custom domain?

You’ll need to update its DNS records when you move to 4.0. We tried everything to avoid this, but we have simple steps to guide you.

Your revenue history is in Stripe

Historical revenue from 3.0 is not able to be moved over to 4.0. You can always view it in your previous Stripe account.

Have recurring payments?

You’ll need to copy your Stripe customers to your Teachery 4.0 Stripe account. Our support team will reach out to assist you.

Custom CSS does not carry over

We’ve made a big upgrade to how courses are built and customized, so your existing custom CSS won’t come over to 4.0. You can still add new custom CSS (but with our new Design tools you may not need it!)

Moving is permanent

Once you click the final Move button, your migration can’t be undone. Give everything a final look and make sure you’re ready before you make the move.

Please know that we spent months and countless hours of effort trying to avoid this outcome 😩. Due to the complexities of payment processing and ensuring the best possible experience for you and your customers, creating a new Stripe account within your Teachery 4.0 account is mandatory and the only option.

We’re sorry for the extra step, and we wish it weren’t necessary. The good news: setting up a new Stripe account via Teachery 4.0's integrations page will only take a few minutes.

Still selling in 3.0?

You can keep selling there while you transition. The sooner you create your new Stripe account in 4.0, the sooner you’ll be ready to make the move.

More ways to get paid

Your new Stripe account lets us offer Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, tax calculations, multiple checkout upsells, 1-click post order offers, and more payment security.

Your past revenue stays put

Past revenue is in your old Stripe account

All your previous revenue data stays in your previous Stripe account. It can’t be brought into Teachery 4.0, but you can still view it via your own Stripe Dashboard.

What will your customers see?

Staying on Teachery 3.0 for now?

If you haven’t migrated yet, you can keep selling in 3.0 and your customers can keep accessing their purchases there until March 31, 2027.

After January 31, 2027, we will not longer monitor support requests on 3.0 so we can focus solely on 4.0.

Nothing will change on October 20th. Once you migrate a course or product to 4.0, your customers will login via the exact same URL. It will feel seamless!

Using Teachery’s Learn page?

If some courses are still in 3.0 and others are in 4.0, customers may need to log in to each Teachery Learn page (one for 3.0 and one for 4.0) separately to find everything.

Moving all your courses and products over to 4.0 sooner keeps things simpler for your customers.

A few things we’re still finishing

Teachery 4.0 is 97% feature complete, but we’re still putting the finishing touches on a few features. Here’s what’s coming, along with our current target dates.

Affiliate payouts

You can already create affiliates and collect commissions in 4.0. We’re finishing the system to allow you to pay out your affiliates on your own.

Automations with your favorite tools are on the way. We're adding more triggers and more automation abilities with our new tagging feature too.

Your email integrations

MailerLite, Mailchimp, Kit, and Flodesk are coming to 4.0 to match what we currently have. Future email providers will be taken into consideration in 2027.

PayPal is absolutely still planned for the end of the year. You'll be able to toggle it on and offer PayPal on your Checkout Pages in 4.0.

Some important notes…

Check what’s ready on October 20

On October 20, our public roadmap shows what’s ready to use in Teachery 4.0. Check the features you rely on before moving.

Move your courses. Your students come too.

Existing users can log in to Teachery 3.0 and 4.0 during the transition. As you migrate each course or product to 4.0, its students are migrated along with it.

Your students keep using the same URLs

Students can still access what they’ve purchased through the same URLs. If you're still using 3.0, nothing changes. When you migrate a Course or Product to 4.0, the same URLs will work.

Custom domains need a quick DNS update

You’ll need to update the DNS records for your custom domains when you transition them to 4.0. We’re so sorry to put this extra step on your list. The update only takes a few minutes, and our team can help if you get stuck.

Teachery 3.0 retires on March 31, 2027

Our current plan is to keep Teachery 3.0 available to existing users until March 31, 2027. We will stop offering customer support on 3.0 on January 31, 2027 so we can shift all energy and focus on 4.0. If you do not migrate before March 31, we will automatically migrate your account.
